Building an ark….
Well, thinking about it anyway. It has RAINED for days, with no sign of stopping. That’s not entirely true. It has stopped for a few minutes at a time. Then it comes back. The forecast for the weekend is wet and bleak with a 90 percent chance of wet and bleak, and possible rain and thunderstorms.
Where is summer? This is UTAH and in UTAH during June we have sun and heat. I’ve heard more than one comment about this “apocalyptic weather,” and I find it fairly amusing. It’s rain, people, not acid snow or tasmanian-devil-strength tornadoes.
Although I admit with all the water I am considering honing up on my ark-building skills. Or at least learning how to water ski.

I’m use to the rain in June, but I live in a state where it’s suppose to rain in June.

Do you have room on your Ark for me? Everyone seems to think that its strange that we are getting so much rain in June. I think that its pretty normal, I grew up here (West Valley) as a kid, but moved away as a teenager. When ever it rained it reminded me of home, because were we moved to in Colorado, it rarely rained or snowed. When it did it brought me back to my childhood days when I used to dance in the rain, and play in the sweltering gutters with my sister. I think everyone just got used to the dry seasons of the past 10-12 years. Until State Street becomes another fast moving river (83′) I sure we have nothing to worry about. I just wish it would warm up a bit!! I love rain especially when its a warm rain!!
I was just finishing up the book Wives and Sisters when the latest down fall started. Very good book by the way, looking forward to reading more of your books!!

Natalie, Nevada set a record this year for rain. We’re the driest state in the union, but June has seen rain everyday with no let up in sight. This morning’s newspaper said it was the beginning of another El Nino. We can always use the rain here in our neck of the woods, so I’m not complaining — not yet anyway.

And the Seattle area is the reverse. You guys are getting the rain we’re supposed to have. Instead, we’re on day 26 of no rain — in sight of a record for the May-June timeframe. It’s gloriously beautiful here, but even I am beginning to wonder if we shouldn’t have some rain soon. Our ecosystem is dependent on it!

I moved to SLC from Michigan a couple of years ago. With all the moisture in the air, it’s all I can do this week not to stretch my Os, get shitty on Labatt’s and collect unemployment.

You mean, God finally decides to take pity on the fools who are draining the reservoirs to water their huge lawns, and everyone is convinced it’s the end of the world?
It just seems rude to pray for something, and be scared when it happens.

I can’t find it now, but I read an article recently where the leaders of the church had the audacity to tell the members that the reason there was a draught in Utah is because they weren’t keeping the sabbath day holy.
looks like there’s been a lot more holy happening on sundays.
and of course, this must mean the church is true.
