The Grand Prize Winner of the BEHIND CLOSED DOORS contest, which was judged by a few author and poet friends of mine, was Cindy Chow! Here is Cindy’s winning entry.

Okay, I’m in my thirties and I have a Barbie collection. I can cover it up by saying that they’re the collector’s editions, but face it, I just like playing with their shoes and the pretty outfits. It’s anti-feminist, probably distorting women’s body images, but I love Barbie.

I hide them when I have guests. It freaks out guys.
